Martina Copley and Francesca Rendle-Short
Martina Copley is an artist, curator and writer interested in different modalities of practice and the annotative space. Working in film, drawing and installation, she is researching a PhD in Fine Arts at the Victorian College of the Arts, University of Melbourne. Recent exhibitions include Unhidden, Counihan Gallery, Melbourne, 2017; Between these worlds there is no ordinary continuity, Melbourne Festival, 2016; FM[X] What would a feminist methodology sound like? WestSpace, Melbourne, 2015; A Listener’s guide to bowing, Melbourne School of Architecture & Design, Nite Art, 2015; and I always read by listening to the text, Platform, Melbourne, 2014. Martina lectures at LaTrobe College of Art + Design in Melbourne and is the gallery coordinator at BLINDSIDE Art Space.
Francesca Rendle-Short is an Associate Professor in the School of Media and Communication at RMIT University, Associate Dean, Writing and Publishing, co-founder of non/fictionLab and co-director of WrICE (Writers Immersion and Cultural Exchange). She is a novelist, memoirist and essayist, author of Bite Your Tongue, Imago, The Near and The Far (co-edited with David Carlin), and PRESS: 100 Love Letters (co-edited with Laurel Fantauzzo). Her work has appeared in anthologies, literary journals, academic journals and book chapters, and in exhibitions, including Offshoot: Contemporary life writing methodology and practices (UWA Press), Social capital and enterprise (Palgrave), The materiality of love (Routledge), Best Australian science writing, Overland, Rabbit, New Writing, The Lifted Brow and The Essay Review (Iowa). Her artwork is in the State Library of Queensland.
